SHOOT A BAND GET PUNCHED IN THE FACE
Last night I found myself at fubar shooting my buddy Seth's band again. Naturally I was way hyped to be there shooting live bands especially because thats something I'm not too familiar with. I showed up around 7 and immediately started shooting right way. Seth's band didn't go on for a few minutes so I warmed up with the first band, getting exposures right etc etc.
After a quick set Wings of the morning swarmed the stage and right away a crowed was formed (they had the largest crowd out of anyone at the show) These guys blow me away with the fact that they have only played 2 shows (this one being their second) The sound of these guys is incredible. I'm a bit of a music snob but if you asked me I would say that they stole the show...again. I'm not sure if its just me but I think that they dominated the night, and performed beautifully. Somewhere during the set I found myself in the small mosh pit that formed and before I knew it I got whacked in my left eye. Not too sure of what just happened I walked to the outside to collect my thoughts, haha. I was caught totally off guard by the fella throwing hands like it was his job. I looked around for a second, blinked several times, then jumped on stage to grab a few more frames before their set was completed. It was hard for me to watch these guys through a lens because I was enjoying their sound too much. I fuckin' love these guys, and it helps that they are all incredibly nice dudes and a real joy to be around.
After their set was through, me and my buddy Mike stuck around for a little but to shoot the rest of the bands. Everyone sounded good, and although it was a bit of a challenge shooting in there, I think we made out alright if some good frames. I can't wait to be shooting more live bands, something about the extreme amount of energy in such a small space is amazing to me. I love it!!
